Chorba, Petingola named Sault College Freshii Athletes of the Week

Men's baseball player Curtis Chorba and women's soccer player Jayna Petingola were named Sault College's Freshii Athletes of the week for the week ending September 11, 2022. 

Chorba, a first-year catcher from Leamington, Ont., studying Police Foundations made history in the Cougars inaugural game against Seneca College. On opening weekend, Chorba batted .357, hitting the program's first home run, 2 triples and 4 RBI's. He was also a defensive standout behind the plate, throwing out 40% of the attempted base stealers.

Petingola, a second-year goalkeeper from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., studying Nursing, recorded 71 saves in two games over the weekend. Making numerous key saves against St. Lawrence College and Algonquin College, Petingola will be an instrumental leader for the Cougars this season.
