With the 2018-2019 season, MacLeod enters her eighth year as an assistant coach with the Sault College curling program.
With French being her first language, Rejeanne had a challenging upbringing in an English environment and found sports to be her outlet in school – as “sport is a universal language”. While taking part in many sports growing up – track & field, volleyball, badminton, and curling – she became more involved once she started her own family.
MacLeod obtained her Competitive Curling Coach certificate and began instructing with the Little Rock Program. While that mainly consisted of putting on sliders and tying shoes, it was that experience that carried over to her later accomplishments. Coaching since 2006, it was in 2009 that her Bantam girls’ team won the Northern Ontario Bantam Championships.
Message to Recruits:
“I believe you need a balance in life, school, work, and exercise. Curling is a great way to meet others, get exercise, to challenge oneself, and set goals. You will be part of a team that looks out for each other.”
